Meet the Founder

Founder, Robert Lubin, migrated to the US from Haiti when he was only 4 years old and grew up in Seattle, Washington. Despite coming from a poor background in Haiti, his father and mother worked tirelessly in order to provide a good life for Robert and the family. Robert fell into the wrong crowd while going to school but eventually left Seattle after listening to hi father's advice. While studying at the Spokane Community College, Robert was inspired by other titans in the industry such as Russel Simmons, P.Diddy, Daymond John, and more to make some money through fashion. This in addition to his own internal struggles led him to move further into the fashion world. Having been introduced to Nike ID by his ex-girlfriend little brother, Robert’s customized Nikes began generating a lot of good feedback from his peers and family.

People had already begun asking Robert if he was a full-fledged designer. This inspired him to eventually start the brand, which he christened Fresh Kics. He worked out a deal with a designer in Miami by the name of Mark S. (No longer in business together after they split & Robert cut off the business relationship) to provide the first prototypes of the Company’s sneakers. After much work, Robert was able to combine his core message of faith, family, and future with a unique logo that drew influences from his life and his parents’ Christian upbringing. Mark and his contacts in Europe fell in love with the logo, and soon the seeds for the Company’s beginning began to take root. Driven by the desire to help people feel fresh, stylish, and empowered in their clothing, he formally founded Fresh Kics LLC in 2010. Since its founding, Robert has invested a lot of his funds that he raised from other investors and family members, and working multiple jobs to put money back into the Company. He along with his current team understand the precise operational, marketing, and financial requirements needed to take Fresh Kics LLC to the next level.

It hasn't been an easy road! It's been a long ten years of struggles, depression, lots of early morning meetings, lots of late nights of putting business together and pre-structure plans, ups and downs, jumping through so many hoops, having to go through so many different factories and samples, and lots of money going out to designer/designs. This isn't the same shoe he originally started with but he never threw in the towel. The sneakers that are releasing has been a year of development and some changes were being made here and there as time went on, but we never release due to many challenges along the road. Every year that Fresh Kics was supposed to release, it's like something kept happening that pushed them back, but Robert had always looked at it as if God was telling him that, "it's not Ready to be released to the world yet" or "Not his Time yet to be seen."

After years of hard work and staying in good Faith, and patiently waiting on God's word, and after so many designs and samples produce it lead him to a dope new factory with amazing new connections and designer, and much better material/fabric to be used on their own sneakers, and great new contract that was suitable for everyone.
